ACMAD Strengthens METTELSAT’s Climate Services Capacity in the DRC Through Training and Climate Bulletin Development
The climatology training programme for METTELSAT teams in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) concluded with a tangible outcome: the production of a climate bulletin!
Participants applied the skills developed during the training, including data quality control, statistical analysis, mapping and the interpretation of climatic conditions. These skills were put into practice to transform climate data into a structured, accessible, and decision-oriented bulletin.
The training also covered climate prediction, strengthening the complementarity between climate monitoring and forecasting.
ACMAD will continue to provide technical support to METTELSAT teams to further improve the bulletin, consolidate the knowledge acquired, and support its regular production. This ongoing collaboration will help enhance the quality and relevance of climate information for agriculture, water resource management, and risk prevention in the DRC.
